MONTRÉAL – December 17, 2020 – Scientific Games Corporation (“Scientific Games” or the “Company”) shared support for the local community surrounding its east Montreal manufacturing facility with a holiday donation of $15,000 CAN to benefit children and families in need. The donation will equally benefit three organizations that serve the neighborhood where many of its 250 employees have lived for generations.
Scientific Games’ donation to the Momentum for Life Foundation (Fondation un élan pour la vie) will be used to create 300 holiday gift baskets tailored to the needs of families in the neighborhood. The Company’s contribution to Operation Santa Claus (Opération Père Noël) will allow approximately 100 additional children in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve to receive a gift on December 25. Additionally, the funds given by Scientific Games to Notre-Dame-des-Victoires Elementary School will be used to help families of school-aged children in need from the local area.
Representatives from Scientific Games delivered the donations to each of the three organizations dressed in festive holiday costume to celebrate the spirit of the holiday season.
“Scientific Games and our employees wanted to show how much they care about the local community. We recognize that this has been a very challenging year for everyone, in particular, for the organizations in our surrounding neighborhood that support those in need,” said Marc-André Doyon, Regional VP, Canada for Scientific Games. “A little bit of cheer can go a long way in difficult times, and we hope our donation helps spread a lot of happiness during the holidays.”
The Company has contributed to the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve area since the 1990s, supporting the local economy and with quality jobs in manufacturing and other areas. Scientific Games manufacturing facility has been located in Montreal for more than 50 years, creating and producing lottery instant games for Loto-Québec and all of the Canadian provincial lotteries.
