Scientific Games’ Globally Respected Instant Games Operations Expert to Retire, New Leader Named
ATLANTA – January 22, 2025 – Following a successful career spanning three decades, Scientific Games’ Joe Bennett, a pioneer in lottery instant scratch game security and innovation, will retire from his role in April. Bryan Murphy, a seasoned industry veteran, will assume the role of VP of U.S. Operations for Instant Products, ensuring a seamless transition and continued success for the company’s instant products which represent 70% of global retail sales.
Joining Scientific Games as a game programmer 34 years ago, Bennett became a key architect in instant game security and innovation. He played a crucial role in developing the foundational technologies that power the global government-regulated lottery industry today—from the computer systems and algorithms that generate scratch games to the robust security measures that safeguard instant products and set the gold standard across our global industry.

Murphy, a highly knowledgeable member of Bennett’s team at the company’s global headquarters since 2007, most recently served as Director of Finishing and Logistics for U.S. instant game products. He brings a wealth of experience in logistics operations and instant game production to this role. Previously, Murphy was the senior regional transportation manager for the Atlanta hub of FedEx Ground, where he gained valuable expertise in logistics and operations management.
In his new role, Murphy will oversee the day-to-day operations of Scientific Games’ U.S. instant game production facilities, ensuring the continued efficient and secure production and delivery of high-quality products to the company’s lottery customers.
